STIHL mowing heads are ideal for tidying up and working on smaller areas. We have different types for different tasks. Depending on the type, the mowing lines in the mowing head can be adjusted manually, or automatically by tapping on the ground. Alternatively, we offer a separate type that you can equip with plastic blades instead of a mowing line. You must always use the safety guard and safety glasses with cutting tools.
Cutting blades are particularly well-suited to mowing strong, dry grass or dealing with resilient weeds. They are also great for dealing with reeds in your garden pond or nettles.
Brush knives and shredder blades are primarily used to thin out untidy bushes and to cut back thorny hedges. The steel blades are also great for cutting tough, tangled grass.
If you want to cut back or clear a woody bush or even thin tree trunks, we recommend our circular saw blades. These are also used in forestry as they are so durable. If you need to work close to the ground, we have developed a special circular saw blade made from tough carbide.
STIHL mowing lines are available in different shapes, diameters and cross-sections so you can optimise your brushcutter or clearing saw to your working conditions. The wear-resistant material makes them exceptionally durable. We recommend soaking newly purchased mowing lines or those that have been in storage for two to three days before use. This will ensure that the line stays flexible and elastic. The plastic blades will also last longer if you place them in water before use.
Safety and ergonomics are extremely important to us. That’s why our clearing saws are fitted with a safety guard as standard to protect you from stones, grass and pieces of wood. What’s more, certain cutting tools are also available in a low-spin version. In addition, you can equip clearing saws with our hand guard to better protect your hands when performing sawing work.
To improve ergonomic elements, we offer various forms of harness such as the double shoulder harness, chest strap, and our special forestry harness. These improve the weight distribution of the clearing saw or brushcutter and help you to work more comfortably without overexerting yourself.
In addition, there are coordinated and effective protective guards for each of our grass trimmers, brushcutters and clearing saws. From the universal guard for line mowing heads and metal tools right through to the limit stop and guard for circular saw blades.
We want you to enjoy your circular saw blades and brush knives for many years to come. To make sure that they retain their full functionality and cutting strength, we have various pieces of equipment for maintaining your cutting tools, from round, flat and triangular files to sharpening templates and saw sets. Alternatively, you can take your cutting tool along to your STIHL dealer for sharpening.
