That’s why it’s more compact, more lightweight, and requires less maintenance than conventional four-stroke engines, while at the same time being powerful and offering a comfortable sound pattern. STIHL 4-MIX® engines comply with the European Stage V emissions directive.

LONG AIR FILTER SERVICE LIFE

ENSURES LONG CHANGEOVER INTERVALS. Thanks to its long service life, you rarely need to change the easily accessible filter. This saves resources and reduces maintenance effort.

QUICKSTOP DRILL BRAKE

FOR SAFE WORK. The QuickStop drill brake stops the drill if your earth auger gets stuck in the ground and causes the trigger lever to hit your thigh. The braking device ensures that the engine no longer transmits its force to the drill element, while the engine and drill element remain coupled. This means that you can simply unscrew the jammed drill in an anti-clockwise direction.

STIHL ANTI-VIBRATION SYSTEM

FOR MORE PLEASANT WORK. Vibrations can occur when you put your power tools through their paces, and these are particularly noticeable in the grip area. The buffer and spring elements of the STIHL anti-vibration system reduce the transmission of engine vibrations to the handle area and therefore to your body. The result is that your power tool is more comfortable to hold and your work is much less tiring.

SINGLE-HANDED MULTI-FUNCTION HANDLE

Featuring a powerful, fuel-efficient 4-MIX® engine and a larger fuel tank than previous models, this auger works longer with fewer refuels. It also features a vertical pleated air filter for improved air supply quality and extended service life. Its semi-automatic choke lever enables a simplified starting procedure that reduces the chance of flooding, while the STIHL Quickstop® auger brake is designed to automatically stop the auger bit from turning if it hits a hard underground impediment. With an ergonomic design, the BT 131 delivers control and comfort while reducing fatigue.
